Fairy Party Games

Pin the star on the fairy's wand. (like pin the tale on the donkey)

Tooth Fairy or Fairy Treasure Hunt.  The Tooth Fairy had been flying over and was so busy watching the fairy party she crashed into a tree in the garden and dropped some money. She told Fairy Godmother that if fairies helped to "clean up" they could keep coins they found (in their own treasure bags). There will be great excitment in finding all of the coins and this will keep the fairies busy while the fairy picnic (afternoon tea) is being laid out. Fairies then return to the Fairy Castle for picnic and birthday cake.

Fairy Tag (Similar to Stuck in the Mud), one fairy has a special "freeze" wand and another a special "fly free" wand. This is a great fairy party game for using up energy and increasing appetite.

Fairy Scavenger Hunt. Put the guests into pairs accompanied by a Fairy Helper. Tell them that the Queen Fairy had her house blown away and needs some help from the fairies and elves to rebuild it. Make up little bags that have a list stapled to them, asking them to find the following: 3 brown leaves (for the roof of the house), 2 stones (for the floor), 2 green leaves (for the walls) and something shiny such as cellophane (for the windows) and lastly 2 twigs (for the door). They are to bring them all back put it all into a big bag and the Fairy Helpers would take it home to the Queen Fairy. Make sure you have plenty of leaves, stones and cellophane strategically placed around for the fairies and elves to find!

Fairy Activities. Set up an activity table and make some tiaras or fairy wands from cardboard and glitter.

Fairy Freeze - Play some fairy music (source from your local library if you don't already have some at home). Dance around the fairy circle - guests practice fairy flying, fluttering, swooping, gliding etc. Use the same theme as for 'musical statues'.

Fairy Friends Arrive

Try to arrange some fairy helpers (grandparents, cousins, friends etc)



Ask the child if they would like to be a fairy for a day (or for the boys, an elf) and when they say "yes", the Fairy Helper can tap a magical wand on their head and say the words "Abra Cadabra".


Voila! They are now magical for the day! The fairy helper then blows bubbles and sprinkles fairy dust over the new fairy.


The guests can now move on to having the Fairy Helpers put makeup on them. The fairies can have their nails painted, eye shadow, lip gloss and roll on glitter on their faces. The elves can have glitter put on their cheeks

While the fairies and elves are getting their faces made up, give the other guests a fairy drawing to colour in. (Go to our colouring in pages and download the fairy one!)

Fairy Party Dress Up

Ask your friends to come dressed as fairies, pixies or elves. 

Don't forget to add a headpiece and a fairy wand to your outfit.

Lots of fairies also like to have glossy nails and lips plus some glitter or fairy dust really add some sparkle!

Invitations For a Fairy Party

The invitations give the first magical surprise that your guest is coming to a Fairy Party.  You can make your own invitations by cutting out silver and gold stars and putting glitter on one side while you put the party details on the other.  It could go something like this ...

Peek into the land of fairytopia, and what will you see?
A sparkly little fairy, flying amongst the trees.
Her name is xxxx and she is turning SIX.
 
Please join us for a party, where there will be lots of food and tricks.
The good fairies there will help you earn your wings,
and we'll play games together and make pretty fairy things.

Fairy Party Decorations

• Hang tinsel and coloured cardboard stars from string placed around the room to create a magical fairy party



• Use balloons coloured pink, white, gold or silver


• Have some fairy books lying around


• Use fairy lights if you have them


• Hang tulle or other material to create magical fairy tents


Decorate the tables with a green table cloth and red or pink plates for a big impact.
